6 Ways To Increase Your Online Sales

// January 7th, 2009 // Finance

Increase your Sales! Increase your Sales! Increase your Sales! has been the prime moto of all the product based companies in this recession period. Yes, in most cases you might have also broken your past records. However, breaking past records is what makes it a successful marketing campaign. Speaking about Marketing Campaign, only half the potential is used if you are not campaigning online. With the amount of growth of the online business, it is a prime necessity for any business to have a unique and good marketing campaign.

In order to do so, I have articulated the following checklist for you to have a re-look at your site in order to convert your visitors to potential customers.
Online Marketing and online sales

1. Test! Test! Test! Have a clear and exact picture of the whole process. Understand what is working and what is not, before launching the site and fix them or give an appropriate message rather than an Internal Server Error.

2. Presentation is the Key! Give more importance to it, check the content for spelling mistakes, broken links, punctuation’s, etc. If your site is not user friendly, then likely you are losing more than half the number of customers. Design a site, comparing a customer’s intelligence to that of a 5th grade kid.

3. Performance! Make sure your site doesn’t take too much time to load. Using a flash content for your website might make your site look good, but the time for which it loads would annoy the customer. Gmail is simple and loads faster! that why people prefer it to yahoo mail and hotmail. People hate to wait.

4. Try to maximize your cross-sell and up-sell opportunities as much as possible. On the sales page of a shoe, you could put an advertisement of a cross-sell item that is related to a shoe, like a socks., belt, etc. and similarly an up-sell item.

5. Provide a review of all the products you sell. This not only increases your keyword density in your site, but also allows your to navigate easily based on the tags associated with each product.

6. The most important thing that I would look for on a sales site is the contact information. Provide a simple navigation path for the contacts and customer policy page. This would provide a credibility to your site. The customers feel more secure when the see the contacts and privacy policy page, though half of them don’t read through it.

Considering Online marketing, a little change can bring about a huge difference in your sales. So, take your time to carefully review your site for the key factors. Also find out the competitors of your site, and understand their marketing strategy. Knowing that would help you to find the weakness in your site.

Happy Marketing!
